begin at 12:00 p.m. with a complimentary lunch and run approximately
2 to 2.5 hours.  All attendees receive support material and a free gift

A look at papermaking, ink on paper and color theory (RGB & CMYK). You will learn various paper characteristics such as opacity, brightness, whiteness and how ink laydown varies on coated versus uncoated paper.  You will also receive a valuable reference book covering stock surfaces and coatings with shingled reference pages showing a number of images and solids on various stocks for comparison.

 
 
   

Optimizing Your Mailing Dollars

Learn “everything you wanted to know about mailing but were afraid to ask” such as mail categories (letter, postcard, 1st class, standard, etc.) what is machinable vs. non-machinable, cleaning your database / list hygiene. Learn about postage (standard up to 3.3 oz., first class, weights vs. counts) and common problems to avoid regarding wafer seals and barcode failure.

A conclusive overview of the foolproof creation of PDF files.  Problems relative to Acrobat 5.0 will be discussed as well as solutions and workarounds.  This seminar will show how Acrobat can be used as a Preflighting Tool.  Distiller settings will be discussed as well as additional plugins that can make your life easier.  Proper preparation of your files will have a direct effect on how you will create files in the future and will help to save you a considerable amount of time, aggravation and money.

This seminar will cover the different types of digital proofing methods available and their advantages versus traditional film generated proofs.  Kodak DCP 9300, Digital Dylux, Colorspan, Xerox X2 and Creo Spectrum Proofers will be examined.
